ショスタコーヴィチ生誕100周年記念として企画された「ショスタコーヴィチ生誕100周年記念レクチャー＆コンサート」の委嘱作品として2006年に作曲。当日レクチャーに訪れた音楽学者：D.I.ソレルティンスキー（ショスタコーヴィチの名付け親のご子息）に献呈。
初演はロシアの演奏家を中心とした特設ピアノ五重奏団により、東京（白寿ホール）にて催された。

Composed in 2006 as a commissioned work for the Dmitri Shostakovich 100th Anniversary Lecture and Concert, this piece is dedicated to musicologist D.I. Soreltinsky, the son of Shostakovich’s godfather, who attended the lecture on the day of the event.
The premiere was held at the Hakuju Hall in Tokyo, performed by a special piano quintet primarily consisting of Russian musicians.
